Problem #02: Understands the subject but forgets everything during exam

Choosing the right tuition centre is crucial for your child’s academic success.

Over the years, we have encountered many brilliant students whose potential for academic success were denied. Worst of all, we have seen many brilliant students’ talents untapped and underachievement in their examination results.

To begin with, there were many reasons.

One of the most common mistakes we discovered was the failure to identify challenges faced by a child when studying.

On the other hand, attending tuition centre does not guarantee the child’s success; Right Teaching Method and Right Study Method Does !!!

Here in Fun Learner’s School, we always make it a point to understand the challenges faced by students on their side of the problem before any meaningful progress can be expected.

Case Study #2: Edmund* Was A Top Student, Except During The Exams

Background Information:

Education Level: Primary 2
Learning Challenge: Doesn’t Understand What The Teacher is Teaching in School
Tuition Experience: Attended other centres previously and switched over

Edmund was a Primary 6 student with more potential than anyone else, literally. Not only was he intelligent and diligent, Edmund was well-liked by all teachers who had taught him.

He had a problem though. On exam days, Edmund would always have stomach-ache before going to school. On several occasions, a fever would break out during the exam period and would automatically clear off when the papers were over.

Needless to say, the poor student’s mind went blank during most papers. His results were not reflective of his actual ability, and this was extremely worrisome for Edmund’s parents.

When Edmund came to FLS, the teachers understood his problem. His inability to deal with stress had spilled over into his health and academics. What he needed was the way to handle the exam stress.

In Fun Learners School lessons, his teachers not only taught content, but discussed with the class on the mental state to adopt when dealing with exams. Within 9 months, Edmund’s exam performance improved, much to the bewilderment of those around him.

If your child faces the same issue as Edmund in exam underperformance, come speak to us. We can help.
